Dear Pacific Parents and Guardians,

 
It is with great enthusiasm that I join the Pacific Elementary community, an outstanding school with a commitment to student-centered, challenging curriculum and the development of citizens of the future. In meeting many Pacific staff and families it is clear we all believe strongly in the importance of working as a team to develop well-rounded children who thrive in academics, citizenship, and the arts. My committment to keeping students at the center of the decision - making process means I will work hard with you, staff and students to integrate the assets of our larger community into a program that meets the needs of all students at Pacific. Pacific is my home, and I am proud to be a panther!
 
Pacific's commitment to student-centered curriculum and team work is a natural fit with my philosophy.  I have been in education for 13 years and am proud of my reputation as someone who builds consensus around decisions that improve the school experiences of all our children. I take an active roll in student learning, and can be seen in classrooms, on the playground, and at school events encouraging and supporting students.   As the Assistant Principal at the Manhattan Beach Middle School, I worked closely with dedicated and active parents, staff, and community members to maintain an outstanding academic standard while fostering student development in leadership, athletics, and the arts. Prior to Manhattan Beach, I spent 10 years in the Beverly Hills education community where I developed tremendous respect for the difference a committed parent community can make when they join the school team in making decisions. While in Beverly Hills, I worked with students and their families in kindergarten through eighth grade as a Resource Specialist and taught fifth and sixth grade. I also worked with teachers in kindergarten through third grade as a Math Coach and served as interim Assistant Principal at Horace Mann School. My time in Beverly Hills and Manhattan Beach gave me a solid foundation in curriculum, standards-based instruction, and working with the entire school community to foster success. I look forward to continuing this work with the Pacific community.
 
I am ready to hit the ground running this year and hope you will join me.   At Pacific we have the gift of an involved and innovative parent community and I look forward to working together. Together we can lead our panthers into the future with continuing success.
