Teri Hampton is the dedicated Pacific MakerSpace Instructional Assistant, funded by MBEF and supported by the district.
What is Makerspace STEM lab and why is it Important?
- Engage in open-ended STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) challenges and long-term projects
- Fosters project-based learning, critical thinking, creative problem solving, and collaboration -- essential skills for addressing real world problems
- Work hard, overcome challenges, experience failure, and persist
- Collaborate with peers, learn from others, and become independent thinkers
- Provides the foundation to be an innovator, developer, and a world changer
All grades will regularly attend MakerSpace – TK-3rd will come bimonthly, 4th & 5th will attend once per month.
Our “challenges” or projects are STEAM based and diverse. Past projects have included ping pong ball launchers, newspaper towers and mini robot coding.
